doForms allows you to set a default set of appearance parameters. This eliminates the need to set colors and other parameters each time you add an element to your form. You can however override the default settings for any tool by simply picking the Custom option.
Settings
There are several ways of accessing the appearance settings:
Settings menu
From the form builder tab menu, select Settings > Form appearance menu item. This will open the settings window enabling you to select and set the standard colors for the form.
Edit defaults
The settings may also be changed from the Appearance property's Edit defaults link. The Standard Colors option is the default color theme that may be changed. The Custom Settings allow you to show pick the specific color for the tool.
By selecting the property's custom options, you are changing the appearance from the standard set of colors, allowing you to differentiate the selected question from the rest of the questions on the form.
Setting a common theme
If you have a common theme that you would like to apply to all your tools use the form appearance settings and set you standard color set here. Since the default is to Use Defaults the common color settings will apply and take on the colors set in your theme.
- Heading: Set background, text, and active text colors for headings.
- Add border around heading: Adds a border around headings.
- Answer color: Set the background and text color for answers.
- Remove border around answer: Removes the border around answers.
- Shaded row/column: For tables & grids, set the colors for alternating rows or columns.
- Button: Set the background, text, and active text colors for buttons.
- Label style: Choose between border style, background style, or no border or background style. If border style is chosen, set border and text colors. If background style is chosen, set background and text colors. If no border or background style is chosen, set text color.
- Active box: If enabled, sets border color for active boxes.
- Make these my standard settings: If enabled when saved, makes the settings the standard settings, the default settings for all forms.
Shaded grids & tables
There are more options for the Grids & Tables tools. These tools can their rows or column shaded as a theme. The possible options are:
Top row only
Every other row
First column only
Every other column
Additional styling can be done using HTML tags for captions and hints.
