QuickBooks Time Entry: Exception from HRESULT 0x80040300

You may receive the following error when exporting Time Entries to QuickBooks:

  • System.ApplicationException: Error in Quickbooks Time Entry Response System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040300

This error indicates that the QuickBooks employee is not configured to use Time Entry data for payroll.

To resolve this issue, edit the employee record in QuickBooks, and under Payroll Info, check the "Use time data to create paychecks" option.
